The pay range for the co-op student role will reflect factors such as the candidate’s experience, academic level, and the specific skillset required for the role.

This role will be On-site in our office located in Mississauga daily Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

Job Summary:

SHN is looking to hire a Summer Student within our Department of Retail Specialty Excellence. Within the Retail Specialty Excellence team, the Student will support projects focused on enabling specialty pharmacy in retail settings. This includes assisting with program execution, organizing resources for pharmacy teams, and supporting initiatives that simplify specialty processes. The Student will be responsible for managing assigned tasks and deliverables within required timelines.

What You’ll Do

Retail Specialty Enablement

Support initiatives focused on specialty medications growth into retail pharmacy settings
Assist with simplifying specialty processes, tools, and resources for pharmacy teams
Help review and organize specialty drug information (e.g., drug lists, workflows, ordering pathways)
Support rollout and adoption of specialty programs across retail pharmacies
Operational & Analytical Support

Assist with tracking and organizing data related to specialty referrals, ordering pathways, and program uptake
Support development of summaries, trackers, and simple dashboards to help teams understand specialty performance
Help identify gaps, questions, or recurring themes from pharmacy feedback that may require clearer guidance or tools
Cross-Functional & Project Support

Support special projects led by the Retail Specialty Excellence team, including pilots, process improvements, and store-facing initiatives
Assist with preparing materials for pharmacy teams (job aids, one-pagers, FAQs, presentations)
Coordinate with internal teams such as pharmacy operations, specialty programs, and support teams as needed
General Responsibilities

Manage assigned tasks and projects within required timelines
Maintain organized documentation and project materials
Contribute ideas to improve clarity, efficiency, and usability of specialty processes
Take on additional responsibilities as assigned based on project needs
Required Skills & Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program (e.g., health sciences, pharmacy, business, operations, healthcare administration, or related field)
Strong interest in healthcare, pharmacy, or health system improvement
Ability to communicate clearly with multiple internal teams
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Comfortable working with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Detail-oriented with the ability to problem-solve and manage multiple tasks
Pharmacy or healthcare experience is an asset, but not required
